The Election Commission has completed its consultations with Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry governments.

The Chief Electoral Officers of the four States and Puducherry have been told to complete publication of the electoral rolls by month-end.

Political parties have asked for single phase elections in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry.

West Bengal and Assam might have phased polling.

Final date of election dates will be announced after Election Commission’s consultation with  Assam, West Bengal governments.

The elections will be held for 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, 140 seats in Kerala, 294 seats in West Bengal, 126 seats in Assam and 30 seats in Puducherry.
