Pakistan was hit by a powerful earthquake which was said to be 7.6 in richer scale at around 1.53 am on Wednesday. The epicenter of the earthquake was felt in Southwest Pakistan as per reports are coming in.

The tremers of the earthquake was felt in New Delhi apart from some parts of Haryana, Jaipur and Jaisalmer.

No reports of damage are available immediately. It is said that the affected region is remote and rural and hence the complete news is yet to be received.

Local television reports said the quake was felt across a number of other provinces. Many residents in the country’s largest city, Karachi, ran into the street after the earthquake began, said the reports.

Karachi resident Mohammad Zubair said he was watching a cricket match on television when the bed started shaking.

Earthquakes often rattle the region. A magnitude 7.6 quake on Oct. 8, 2005, killed about 80,000 people in north-western Pakistan and Kashmir and left more than 3 million homeless.
