Tiruchirapalli, Sep 28: Chennai based EdServ, who is India’s largest mobile based education service support corporation, has reached into an agreement with Nokia, the largest producer of handsets in the world to provide its education content on Nokia Smart Phones Worldwide.
S Giridharan, Chairman and CEO, EdServ told PTI here today, “Nokia has approved our HumThum Apps for hosting the apps in Nokia Ovi Apps Store and the apps is now available to run inside all Nokia smart phones”.
He said, “This tie up will enable students to use our wide range of Educational content including Tuition, Academics, Skill Development, and Test Prep Services, that has till now been available on our flagship education and career portal www.lampsglow.com, quite comfortably on the Nokia smart phones through the HumThum apps”.
This will help students to learn as well as tap job opportunities by accessing the HumThum apps wherever anytime from their Nokia smart phone. EdServ’s HumThum apps even has a PDF converter that will change the Nokia smart phone to a mobile scanner or a photocopier. HumThum apps has a ‘Talking Dictionary’ that will offer articulation and meaning of any English word. HumThum also helps users to design, host and update their own private or business website from the mobile phone.
Giridharan added that “EdServ has already garnered over 2.5lakh users on lampsglow.com, out of which over 50 per cent was from mobile segment. EdServ is targeting a subscribed user base of 1crore for its mobile apps by end of next year.” EdServ is also in talks with other top mobile manufacturers as well to expand its reach in the mobile education segment. As a pioneer in mobile based education from kinder garden to post graduate level, EdServ believes their reach is seamless, he said.
He said, EdServ, which is listed on the BSE and NSE, ended Q1 with revenues of Rs. 26.69cr and Net Profit of Rs. 7.31cr.
