Gangula Suryanarayana Reddy alias Maddelacheruvu Suri, the prime accused in the murder of former Minister and Telugu Desam MLA Paritala Ravi, was shot dead in his car, allegedly by his own associate, Bhanu Kiran.
Maddalacheruvu Suri was murdered just 3 days after he stated in an interview to NTV that his life was in danger, and that despite repeated requests, the state police had refused protection to him.
The recently released film Rakta Charitra by Ramgopal varma was made along the lines of the Ravi and Suri.
The 39-year-old was brought to the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills where he died at about 8pm on Monday.
“Suri’s condition was extremely critical on arrival and it continued to deteriorate despite our best efforts,” the doctor said. “A team of neurosurgeons, neurologists and intensive care doctors attended on him but could not save him.”
Hyderabad’s police commissioner AK Khan, quoting the car driver, told reporters that Suri, along with another person, was traveling in the car when the incident occurred.
