Raipur, Apr 5: Main Opposition Congress on yesterday created bedlam in the Chhattisgarh Assembly over the CAG report and staged a walkout expressing dissatisfaction over the Government’s reply on the issue.
The CAG report, tabled in the House yesterday, had said Chhattisgarh Mineral Development Corp (CMDC) suffered a potential revenue loss of Rs 1,052.20 crore for accepting lower rates for commercial mining of coal blocks in the state.
The CAG has also made critical observations against other state-run companies like Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company.
Congress today raised the issue and demanded a comprehensive discussion on the report.
Mohammed Akbar (Congress) sought a reply from the Government over the indictment of CMDC for the loss.
Leader of Opposition Ravindra Choubey said the BJP Government is not clarifying its stand on the report despite several critical observations made by the auditor.
Chief Minister Raman Singh said the report has been tabled in the Assembly and it will be referred to a House committee as per the legislative norm.
Not satisfied with the reply, the Congress members created ruckus in the House and staged a walk out.
