Coimbatore, Dec 6: In the Brookefields Mall, Coimbatore, a multiplex The Cinema is all set to start functioning from 07 Dec 2011.
The Cinema is of SPI Cinemas which owns Sathyam Cinemas and Escape in Chennai. It has come up with six screens with a total seating capacity of 1,500 in a sprawling area of more than 43,000 sq ft area, Swaroop Reddy, Director of SPI Cinemas, told.
Coimbatore is SPIs first site out of Chennai. It has plans to come up with more screens in the city, based on people's response. The six screens have a capacity of 426, 293, 270, 194 (two theatres) and 180 seats, respectively. The tickets are priced at Rs. 120 and Rs. 10. Movie buffs will get to watch movies in a never-before setting and ambience.
The experience begins right at the entry point. Automated kiosks with interactive LCDs provide guests with movie information and facilities to buy or retrieve tickets. The lobby is dotted with designer furniture. A video wall with nine LCD monitors will play the trailers of upcoming movies. Screens are equipped with Barco Digital Projectors with 4K resolution. Screens are equipped with 4-way JBL speakers and QSC amplifiers to give high precision in all frequency ranges.
The Cinema extends its prepaid card, Fuel, to Coimbatore as well. This allows you to pay for tickets and for food and beverage. These cards can be recharged at the counter and kiosk. Tickets can be purchased using cash, credit card, debit card and Fuel card from 10 a.m. to 10.30 p.m. For online ticketing, visit www.spicinemas.in. While booking, you can order food as well. The Cinema also provides kiosks for specialty food and beverages, including sandwich, chaat, ice cream, smoothies and juice besides hot dogs and nachos. There is also a game centre with latest console games for the guests to play free of cost and the Spa offers INADA massage chairs that gives a gentle, undulating figure-eight motion that mimics a Shiatsu massage session.
There is complimentary Wi-fi facility too. Lockers are also available for guests to store their valuables while watching a movie.
