ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 Final: England Beats India

India's dream ofwinning the first Women's ICC World Cup has been shattered afterlosing 7 wickets for just 28 runs. England, after winning thetoss,set the target of 229 runs for India to win. Ahead, Indiaspearheadedby opener Punam Raut, who scored a good score of 86 andHarmanpreetKaur, who chipped in with 51 runs. Team India which at one stagelooked to win, lost the final by 9 runs with 8 balls to spare.

India finallysuccumbed to 219 all out in 48.4 overs with medium-pacer AnyaShrubsole claiming 6 wickets for 46 runs. Earlier, veteran fastbowler Jhulan Goswami took 3/23 and Poonam Yadav claimed 2/36 asIndia restricted England to 228/7 in their 50 overs.

This is Indian'ssecond essay into the Women's World Cup final, after 2005. But theattempt was way better then the previous one.

Though Indiahaven'twon the match, they have done a sensational job throughout thetournament, which is definitely a gateway for the Indian women'scricket.
