Jodhpur, May 4: The Rajasthan High Court today stayed the appoinment of "Vidhyarthi Mitra" (teachers) in state-run schools till further orders.
Justice G C Vyas issued notices to the concerned government departments in this regard seeking their replies within two weeks while granting the interim stay.
The Court gave the direction on a bunch of petitions challenging the appointment of "Vidhyarthi Mitra". The petitioners alleged the appoinments were made in violation of state government rules.
Karnidan Singh Charan and others, who are trained unemployed teachers, had filed the petition in the Court. In their petitions, they submitted that despite qualified teachers sitting idle, the government is appointing the "Vidhyarthi Mitra" flouting rules.
